Valances Add Design & Style To Your Home Decor

Sometimes you just want to add a bit of color or interest to your window. Valances, cornices, and other top treatments are an excellent choice to do just that. With the right styles of valances and cornices, you can really bring the room together. The best part is you can use top treatments alone or in combination with your current window coverings to change up your look.

STYLE OF VALANCES:

Valances are considered more unconstructed and softer whereas a cornice is constructed out of wood and covered with fabric. With unlimited you can create a romantic or a casual and relaxed mood. The best part is you can use them alone or in combination with your current window coverings to change up your look.

Swags are generally used in more formal spaces often with drapes underneath. They can be mounted on a board or mounted on a pole and more than one swag can be used for larger windows. Asymmetrical swags can be used on windows to frame a fireplace or a beautiful antique.

  • Pleated valances and tie top or tab top valances are often more casual and can be mounted on a board or a decorative pole.
  • Box pleat, kick pleat or corner pleat valances are a simple, yet classic way to finish off a plain window. Add a decorative braid or trim for classic look. Add a contrasting pleat or band for dramatic flair or to bring in just a bit of color.
